I drew some art today during Gaffney's class! One of those good, non-thinking, in-tune-with-the-model kinda days.

In other news.
I had my NBR screening and I think I greatly misrepresented my film "Don't Follow Strange Things". Or rather my feelings towards it. I appeared embarrassed and dismissive. And I really owe that film an apology. I was embarrassed because this was a film I made in my sophomore year and it felt like out of all the things I have done, this was the film that was representing me and that it wasn't doing me justice. But that is not the case. I should of approached the whole thing and owned up to it. And I feel terrible for being so distant from it. But I want it to be known to the world that I LOVE this film and I put everything of myself into this film. This film means so much to me and it was created not through only thought and calculating method but this film was created from a place of emotion and utter feeling and was the best I was able to do at that time with those skills. I owe everything I know now and everything I'm doing with my thesis now to this film and I still draw from my experience working on it and the essence of it. I am absolutely proud to have made "Don't Follow Strange Things" and I very much so wish you all could take a look at it. So again, thank you for all who have supported me and my work and the great people at HBO and NBR, my peers, my instructors and family and loved ones. Without you all I am nothing. And without my work I am not an artist. So most importantly. Thank you "Don't Follow Strange Things"

OH yeah!
Oh yeah! I forgot to mention. My film Don't Follow Strange Things received an award from the National Board of Review this summer. Which basically means I had to stand up in front of a packed SVA theater and say a little speech while I crap my pants! You can see the other awardees here: NBR Awardees
And you can check out the film here on vimeo : Don't Follow Strange Things
Looking back it was a great film for the time but.... I know I've definitely progressed since then. I'm really looking forwards to putting together my thesis film and hope everyone gets the opportunity to check it out this upcomming Dustys.

New layout plus a doodle

Trying to keep from getting too rusty this summer! Plus it's a nice distraction/practice for thesis stuff. Reference from HERE.
Also I've been pretty grossed out by my layout and artwork and such finding it thoroughly unappealing. So I put this doggy dog layout together today. I've realized my aesthetic for colors means vomit-tinted. I love the ugliest colors evvveerrr. Sorry guys.

Reference Pictuuurrss

So the one thing that I really miss about school is free life drawing sessions. Though last year was kind of rough because I had life drawing on a Monday, after a full day of being a Teaching Assistant. So more than often I would be totally freakin' dead by the time Gaffney's class rolled around. Exhausted or not it was still one of my favorite classes (Which is why I'm taking his class again next year as an elective. Hohohoho). So this summer. Instead of drawing my boyfriend's beautiful face over and over again while he goes through video game after video game, I'm instead going to go through the Photobooth Reference Blog from start to most recent and just.... fuck around with those pictures. Here's the first one you can find on the first post of the Photobooth Reference Tumblr. I'm not really going for likeness or anything just kind of want to keep my observation skills from not going into a catatonic state is all.
And then this is just for the hell of it because I feel like doing something sassy and cute.
